Happy "National Buddy the Elf" Day

Today, just for fun, answer at least one phone call, "Buddy the Elf. What's your favorite color?"

A beautiful day in the neighborhood

I am not a rider but if I were ... I'd hang out here. A lot! Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson opened next door to our offices yesterday. While I was there, I ran into my friend Russell and his buddy.

Check out the gynormous fan!

Veteran's Day Parade

We watched our community's annual Veteran's Day Parade today. We enjoyed seeing people in our community in the parade.

It's not everyday that one gets to see a camel ... twenty feet away. Or Elvis for that matter!

I like that about our community!

Combating Zackly!

You may have some stanky breath ... and not know it.

Take the test here - takes 10 seconds! You may have to test it a couple of times for accuracy!

In N Out ... Anthem

It's not in Anthem proper but being 4 miles from my house is close enough!

Imagine my excitement when I drove by the construction site this morning. For those who've never experienced an In N Out Burger ... sorry about that!

Fantasy Football - week 1

Now I will not post about my FF team every week but I thought I would share my team and week one.

Short story shorter ... I lost week one. I was up by 15 points going into the last game and Stinking Jay Cutler of the Broncos had an 18 point game.

Here is my team. Any suggestions?

Bucketball

This little game is easy, fun and ... addicting.

I warned you!

Fantasy Football

I've started my second season playing FF with a group of dudes from the church. Last year I really didn't know what I was doing. This year I kind of do ... but we will see.

Football season makes for a fun fall/winter (college on Saturdays, pro on Sundays). My pick to win it all as of today .... College USC, Pro.... my heart says SD Chargers, my head says the NY Jets (Brett Farve sticking it to the PACK).

BTW - I finished in last place last year!

Who do you pick to win the Super Bowl? (say it now ... we will see)

iTunes Top Five

Open your iTunes Library. Click on Play Count button. This will arrange all our songs by the amount of times you've played a song.

My top five:
1. Makes me wonder - Maroon 5 (24)
2. Happy Day - Steve Fee (20)
3. Mighty to Save - Hillsong (19)
4. Wake up call - Maroon 5 (19)
5. How could you do this? - The Great Fiction - (18)
Disclaimer: I like Maroon 5 but my wife likes them more than I, hence the double appearance in the Top five.

What is on your iTunes top five?

What is Hulu?

We recently got rid of our full cable package, cutting back to "basic." Me and my boys are grateful we still get the Discovery Channel!

I got the recommendation from a friend on Twitter. Not sure we need full cable. With sites like Hulu.com not sure we ever need to get a TIVO. Web 2.0 is pretty cool. Check it out ...

I do not endorse or recommend everything on Hulu.com

Any cool sites you know of?

Fun Stuff

I enjoy hanging with my family. We've been doing a lot of fun stuff together lately. One thing is lots of swimming. We play a "homemade" game called creatively "WaterBall." At least I thought it was. You can see a quick sample of how we play this the fast paced, high scoring, make it take it, rough-housing game here.

For board games . . . we do the classic Scrabble (count it as homeschool - haha) and a killer award-winning game called Blokus. It has it's own website! If you have a family and don't have this one - it's a goodie!

There are a couple of websites we frequent for games and such.
Fancy Pants - cool little underground game!
Launchball - we count this as science too! It really challenge the thinking.

Did I mention the Wii & Wii Fit?- Good times!

Wordle

My friend Dan first showed me how these worked. Then I saw them here and here. I thought it would be cool to see what words popped up in my blog. Here you go...

Check it out yourself.

Stitches out ...

With a tender knee, Melissa, with some protest, legitimately had to use a motorized grocery cart today.  She was zipping in and out of the aisles like Jeff Gordon by the end of our shopping.  I don't think she need to again, but it was fun while it lasted!

What would you choose?

Olympic thought:

Would you rather have 2 bronze and 3 silvers .... or one gold?

Junky Car Club

The president of the JCC (Mike Foster) was on Dave Ramsey's TV program this week. The interview describes the origin of the club and it's purpose. I joined a couple of months ago with my 1998 Mazda MPV with 185,000 miles! Running great!

I like the mantra: Living with less, to give more! I also subscribe to Deadly Viper's Blog - Living life with Radical integrity & Radical Grace

The video is about 8 minutes long.

Would you join something like this? Why or why not?
